This guy recently imported this jdm 87 fj62 firetruck; He’s been waiting months to get it and has been finding parts and gear to get it all tip top;

From his post;

Well, at this point I’m pretty certain I’m cursed when it comes to owning vehicles I like. Parked my truck on the street out front my buddies house while I was there visiting. I was there for less than an hour and we heard a loud noise outside followed by a grinding noise, go outside and find that somebody slammed into my parked truck hard enough to shunt it 20' down the street

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Pretty sure that’s totalled, at least the fire tray is written off-if the frame is not. Good luck finding fire truck parts to fix it. Best case scenario is the frame is ok and you can still go full expo and add a tray to whatever you are left with.

Son of a bitch. WHY do morons have to ruin nice things for cool people? At least they didn’t hit-and-run. That RAV4 doesn’t look like its going anywhere except the scrapyard, where the owner should go with it. So sorry to see it, but do everything you can to fix it. Damage looks to have been taken up by the COOLEST part of the truck.

Ugh, this is my worst nightmare with my Autozam.  Someone not paying attention destroying it on me.  I only hope I’m not inside it if it happens.

Damn, that sucks. I can’t imagine losing something that rare just after getting it.

Quite a few years ago, my buddy had a Datsun 260z that was street parked. Distracted driver ended up on the wrong side of a residential street used it as a ramp and launched her vehicle through the air, landed on a Grand Cherokee,  not sure how many times it rolled, and landed on her roof...after smashing through a concrete wall that bordered a country club. She did a lot of damage on a street with a 25MPH speed limit.

damn that sucks. I've seen one of these in person and they are really neat. i suspect he's already gotten in touch with Greg Miller but if not he should. money says he is the only one in North America with parts or sources to keep the dream alive

Im not mature or financially responsible to care about gas mileage. The rav4 has tinny build quality, thin everything, and lacks any of the luxury I look for when traveling 85mph. The demographic of those cars is my antithesis. Ill take any of my hooptie lexus' everyday over being given a free rav4.

Yeah something like that, if you couldn’t replace the original set up you could still have a nice rig. I’d keep the graphics and paint that to match. I think a fabricator could replace the rear deck of the smashed rig and make it decent. I doubt they are really fancy, all flat metal. But time is money.

Id rather walk on legos than live with a rav4. The demographic theyre sold to im sure loves them. Reliable car, plenty of space, its a car that does car stuff. I want a car that evokes an emotion

Nothing against the car (other than the styling of late ones, I find the old 2 doors charming in a way), rather so many of the drivers, who range from gormless to intentionally idiotic.

The car itself is a fine transportation object, but as it exists as kind of a 4WD Corolla, doesn’t always attract the most “with it” drivers.
